Use Telemarketing for Your Content Marketing Distribution
Trends come and go, but one trend that is here to stay is content marketing. Other highly prized marketing methods that were used decades ago in B2B marketing are also trends that are still effective today. Whats on your trend list for 2016, and what traditional, yet effective marketing channels will you continue to use? Including telemarketing in your strategy for the New Year can increase your return on investment.
Youre probably focused on all the latest tools that help you track your marketing efforts and your Web outreach, but you also need to continue your commitment to the B2B tools that have worked in the past and continue to work in the present.
The Content Marketing Institute in conjunction with MarketingProfs, developed a B2B content marketing survey that helps to shed light on what marketers like you are feeling about the state of the industry, whats effective and what you think will be effective in 2016.
The survey shows that previously, around 35 percent of marketers had a documented strategy for their content marketing outreach. Unfortunately, that number has dropped to 32 percent. Whats puzzling is that while most marketers know they need to document their strategies, theyre not doing it.
Here are some takeaways from the survey:
- 79 percent of the most effective content marketing strategies had defined their idea of success.
- Only 23 percent of failed campaigns had defined their idea of success.
- 48 percent of the most effective marketers developed a mission statement, compared to 14 percent of the least effective that had done the same.
- 70 percent of marketers who meet daily or weekly about their strategy feel they are successful.
- 70 percent of marketers say their content marketing is ineffective.
As a marketer, not only do you need to define what success is, you also need to focus on how your content is put in front of your clients and potential clients. More proactive outreach efforts can help solve the problem of failed content marketing strategies. For instance, are you taking enough time to really get to know your leads? When proactive channels are used to distribute content, the success rate goes up.
Many marketers are using a multi-channel approach, which is a well-founded strategy. But many of those channels are not proactive and they dont give any credence to the importance of the human touch. What successful marketers know is that is important to reach out to leads through conversation, and no channels do this more effectively than telemarketing.
Telemarketing uses the human touch to nurture leads into a more profitable position. It begins by developing a relationship through conversation.
